Refinishing Wood Table – Finishing is a fundamental part of the woodwork. During this process, the possible damages caused during the manufacturing process, as well as the natural ones, are covered or concealed. The waxes enhance the original tone of the surfaces. The dyes highlight the grain and cover imperfections. The work of the varnishes is to provide shine and protection, while the lasers protect the wood against external agents. Wax treatments protect wood surfaces, recover their original appearance and give it a glossy finish.
These characteristics make this type of product the most suitable to preserve the naturalness of rustic furniture. The waxes can be white or yellow, in brown or reddish tones. The latter is used both to reinforce the effect of a dye and to replace it. However, the wax that enhances the color of the wood is yellow. Regarding the dyes, they are used to raise the tone of the original color, disguise small imperfections, highlight the grain or improve the refinishing wood table of lower quality woods. These dyes may be of mineral, synthetic or vegetable origin and, although they are often sold in the form of coloring powders prepared to dissolve in water, alcohol or other synthetic solvents, there are also already dissolved mixtures, such as water-based dyes. The choice between one or the other depends on the type of material that is dyed.

In the case of the latter, their great penetration power makes them suitable for solid wood surfaces. The varnish finishes are divided into glossy, satin, matt or colored. The bright varnish enhances the color of the wood, but also its imperfections. In addition, it gives a durable, transparent and waterproof refinishing wood table to the interior and exterior surfaces, such as furniture or windows, although the direct action of the sun can damage the surface. The satin is of similar characteristics but with less brightness. Sometimes, a dilemma arises between dying or varnishing a piece of furniture or surface.
