Enron’s Former CEO Continues Appeal For Fraud Conviction |
|
Jeffrey Skilling, former CEO of Enron, continues to raise various appeals to his convictions and sentencing related to the collapse of the giant energy company in 2001. Skilling was convicted of fraud and other charges related to the phony financial statements and business practices of Enron. Earlier this month, a 3-judge panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Skilling’s convictions were valid but ordered that he be resentenced due to possible misapplication of federal sentencing guidelines by the judge in his original trial. The Associated Press reports that Skilling continues his appeals as his attorneys contend that he was the victim of errors of law as well as errors in sentencing. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gjynze_K9WZp2S6ey6Ncn4 W4BkuwD95R30BO1
