Lawrence R. Beebe, CPA

For more than 45 years, Larry has both carried on a family legacy and developed his own unique talents. He is currently one of the principals responsible for final review of our Firm's accounting and auditing engagements. A distinguished author and engaging speaker, Larry serves the accounting community regularly by participating in seminars, teaching classes, and contributing to industry publications, including several items related to fraud policy formation.

Since 1965, Bond Beebe’s clients at labor unions, employee benefit plans, not-for-profit organizations, construction companies, and law firms have benefited from Larry's expertise. His experience includes: conducting audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards; conducting operational and compliance examinations; and working with external government agencies in examinations of corrupt organizations.

John A. Merchant, CPA, CFE

With over 30 years of public accounting experience, John, in the capacity of chairman of the Firm's Audit Department, oversees, reviews, and performs quality control of engagements for a variety of organizations, including for-profit corporations, charitable foundations, trade and membership organizations, international labor organizations and employee benefit plans. This broad expertise combined with his meticulous and exacting nature make John especially well-suited for specialized projects in areas such as forensic auditing. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner, serves as a member of the Bond Beebe Executive Committee, and has written professionally about fraud prevention among other relevant topics.

John joined the firm in 1978 and has extensive experience investigating fraud claims, conducting forensic audits of labor organizations and in evaluating their compliance with the reporting and disclosure rules of the Labor Management Reporting & Disclosure Act (LMRDA) and the IRS. He is also involved in taxation research and filings for corporate and not-for-profit clients. As a member of Bond Beebe's Executive Committee, John is actively involved with overseeing the Firm's management and internal operations.
